One of the first books I ever read on entrepreneurship was The E-Myth by Michael Gerber. That book was so clear to me in understanding how to build a successful business. It spoke to the heart of the people who start small businesses - people with a passion - and how they struggle because passion doesn’t typically come married to the skills to grow a company.

Many business ideas remain enshrined in the minds of many people due to the fear of taking a step forward with a reason that failure could emerge. As you have conflicting instincts about your business idea or plan, you should know that every prosperous business started as an idea before someone ignored all the failure possibilities and gathered courage to implement it. Business success is not a walk in the park which is why the mentally weak will always continue to dream while the mentally upright people will become the movers and shakers of the economy.

So why is it that some of you reading this post have never bothered with email marketing? The number one reason I hear is that there’s not enough time in the day to send emails. Or, I hear entrepreneurs say that they don’t know what to send.
It started when I was in the eighth grade, remember? You showed up in the form of a shoe salesman. Yep, an older white gentleman who owned a shoe store. It was the first time I’d heard the word ‘entrepreneur.’ You stole my heart.
Entrepreneurs are a curious lot. We see opportunities a mile away. We notice when there is a gap in the marketplace and we tend to understand when needs are going unmet. It's a weighty responsiblity for sure.
Recently I conducted a marketing workshop that was attended by a group of phenomenal female entrepreneurs. It was valuable for them as well as for me. This is how I survey my target market and uncover needs that I can address.
There is this mentality going on right now where women are out here hustling; servicing door to door if they have to. They are vending, doing private parties, gaining Onsie and Twosie sales, “Yeah, I’ll drive to meet you over there.”
Is your product or service transformative? Is it going to appeal to the masses if only the masses have access to it? Is it universal?
If you answered yes then you have the potential to be a global entrepreneur. You can serve your audience all over the world. People across the globe can become familiar with your brand. You can really move the needle wherever people are.
